Aptos native Nathan Lewis founded Lewis Tree Service in 1984 in Santa Cruz, California. In 1993, after running a successful business for several years, at the request of the Santa Cruz City Arborist Ray Sherod, Nathan became a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arbboriculture. Through hard work, dedication to quality tree care, customer service and safety, the company began to grow. In 2011 LTS found and purchased its permanent home at 1500 Brommer st. We are accredited with the Tree Care Industry Association and currently staff four full time certified Arborists, run seven crews daily as well as a full time crane and dumpster service.
The gradual breakdown of woody material found in the wild is the natural cycle that provides nutrients to the forest. However, in the urban and sub-urban environment, we continually remove "leaf litter". By simply adding a generous layer of wood chip mulch to your garden, you'll reverse cycle of stripping of nutrients and instead, give back to your trees and plants, what they really need. Our mulch is a byproduct of our tree business and is primarily wood chips but also may contain leaf and other organic materials.
Lewis Tree Service Inc. provides crane service when you need it, where you need it. We have 30 and 20 ton cranes available with a maximum tip height of up to 150′ and a reach of 100′. We offer a wide range of hoisting and lifting solutions for commercial, residential and industrial customers. Our crane operators and riggers have a minimum of 15 years experience and are certified and trained by the national commission for the certification of crane operators (NCCCO).
