Darrell Slaughter, the owner of DJS Lawn & Landscape, LLC, has been wearing dirty boots now for well over three decades. This comes from being involved in the daily operations and oversight of DJS. This is also due to his time spent in the yards of our customers. We know that in order to truly grasp what our customers need, we must take the time to walk the yard with them. This personal way of doing business is what we were founded on and what we will continue to do. Darrell and the DJS team know that the customer's outdoor living spaces are oftentimes just as important as the indoor spaces and they strive to create a space that the customer will truly feel at home in.

DJS Lawn & Landscape, LLC. is celebrating over 30 years of superb lawn care service in the Triangle area. From its humble beginnings as a two-man operation to its current status as a customer service driven operation with multiple work crews and the most up to date equipment, DJS has always taken pride in giving the customer more than they expect. Our long-term customers will verify that our quality service, attention to detail, and desire to please is what sets us apart from other companies in the area.

Our lawn installation programs include both seeding and sodding operations. The seeding program, typically for fescue lawns, includes aeration of the lawn to loosen the soil before the application of the seed. The seed is then applied with a walk-behind spreader to ensure an even application over the entire lawn. Any thin or bare areas will be slit-seeded to provide the best results possible. We then will make sure any debris such as seed or plugs are blown off all hard surface areas. Sod installation programs are also available and include most warm season grasses such as bermuda and zoysia.

Hardscapes are any outdoor feature built from rocks, pavers, stone, or other hard surface materials. This can include a variety of areas and features including patios, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, water features, and firepits. These are wonderful ways to create an outdoor living space that will last for decades to come. The DJS team has years of experience designing and installing these features. Our installations meet the industry standards set by the ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) and NCMA (National Concrete Masonry Association).

Our Lawn Maintenance includes mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing and can be done weekly or biweekly depending on the preference and season. We mow at the optimal height for your lawn type and stripe in a different direction every visit to prevent ruts and enhance appearance. Trimming occurs around fences and other structures in the yard as well as along beds in order to maintain a uniform height and bed edge. Also during the visit our lawn technicians will perform any necessary weed control in the beds that may need to be done.

When winter weather arrives, we are prepared to keep your walkways and parking lot clean and ready for customers and employees. We offer pre-treat with ice melt before the event as well as removal after the winter weather event.

DJS provides tree and shrub pruning for many of our customers. To ensure the best results, we prune the plants to the optimal size based on plant species, location, and purpose.
