Mar 5, 1850: The Morgantown Bridge Co was formed. The company built the suspension bridge connecting Morgantown and Westover. Prior to the bridge, the only way to cross the Mon River was by ferry. The bridge was nearly burned in 1863 when confederate soldiers occupied Morgantown.
