W.E.L., Inc. (WEL) was established in 1984 by Bill Litchford as a local excavating and hauling company in the central Virginia area. Very soon he became involved in local projects with commercial and industrial customers. This expanded opportunities into railroad services and assistance during train derailments and highway emergencies alike. During this period, Bill recognized the need for environmental and emergency response services in the area, and with his leadership and vision, WEL successfully became one of the region's leading emergency response providers.
WEL has successfully completed major demolition projects in the mid and south eastern states. As an environmental contractor, demolition of former processing and manufacturing plants has been a large portion of WEL services since its inception.
