The Righter

As ODOT Level 3 Bridge prequalified, we have experience and expertise in all types of bridges, including complex structures. We have completed over 50 covered bridge projects and many unique timber bridge structures. You will find no company in Ohio more experienced in this type of construction. We do all types of water and wastewater treatment projects including pump stations, utilities, new plants and renovations of existing facilities. Our clients include the City of Columbus, various municipalities, counties, and private utilities.

In order to remain prequalified with many of its clients, The Righter Company needs to have a good safety record and a proven history of completing difficult projects. The Righter Company takes a proactive approach to safety on all projects. The field workforce receives regular training. All employees have attended OSHA's 10-hour training. Field Supervisors receive additional OSHA training, excavation training, First Aid & CPR training.

The Righter Company, Inc. was founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1976 by Don and David Righter, a father and son team. As a general contractor, the company slowly but steadily grew. In 1984, Donald W. Righter was succeeded by David Righter who took over as President for the expanding and profitable construction company. The open shop general contractor found its core work in the civil area, working primarily for public owners such as Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Ohio Department of Administrative Services, and various Ohio counties and cities, while maintaining some involvement in the private sector with selected industrial clients and the telecommunications markets.

To provide construction services while partnering with clients for profit, quality and life enrichment. Our values are unchanging; they come from our history and beliefs. In addition to bridge work, the Civil Division also works on public works improvements including parks, culverts, concrete retaining walls, concrete foundations, and structure restoration or rehabilitation. The Righter Company, Inc. is best known for its work with bridge and complicated civil engineering projects. Our clients include owners such as The Ohio Department of Transportation, the West Virginia Department of Transportation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, The Ohio State University, The State of Ohio, The City Of Columbus, Franklin County, and a variety of other public clients.
