Unit Building Services began in 1972 as a merit shop, design-build and general contractor. Steve Schmidlin assumed the leadership role as President in 1993. Steve continued to grow Unit - a company built on the integrity and values of his father, Tom Schmidlin, a residential and commercial builder, and the legacy of his grandfather, P.K. Solon, a residential builder and developer. The growth of the company is attributed to the increased emphasis on the design-build process and customer service. The company is 100% owned by the Schmidlin family.
