C&D Lumber Co. focuses their attention on high quality products made from Douglas Fir, Incense Cedar and Port Orford Cedar. We produce a variety of specialty rough timbers, construction timbers, cedar decking and fence rails, as well as dimensional lumber. C&D Lumber Co. believes that our people are our biggest asset. Our credo of "Great People, Great Products, Great Customers" shows in every employee we hire, every product we make, and in a variety of training activities focused at growing our human resources.
When any company stays in business for over 125 years, you know there's something special going on. In the wood products industry, it's nearly unheard of. Throw in that the company has been and continues to be - family-owned - and you're in the company of a very few. The story of C&D's commitment to personal, customized service combined with the highest quality wood products goes back more than 125 years. Our roots reach to 1890, when Alford Johnson built his first sawmill in Southern Oregon's Coos County.
That means we've undergone a rigorous process that includes third-party audits and comprehensive documentation-all to assure you that our logs come from forests that are grown and harvested in an environmentally responsible manner. At C&D Lumber, we do everything in our power to sustain the health of our natural resources as we produce our top-quality wood products. We buy our lumber from foresters who practice scientifically sound and efficient forest management techniques that provide habitat for wildlife and aquatic life, and maintain forest tree species, soil, air and water resources.
Homeowners love a cedar deck. Tell them it's sustainably harvested in the United States and they love it even more. Our decking is available in incredibly strong Port Orford Cedar or dimensionally stable Incense Cedar. Both species are naturally resistant to rot and can even be left untreated, if a silver look is desired.
