Stephen Dunlap has been a roofer since 1976, starting his career in Ventura County. Dunlap Roofing Incorporated opened for business on the Mendocino Coast/Fort Bragg Area in 1998 and expanded to the Ukiah Valley inland area in 2004 when Blaine Dunlap joined the business. Dunlap Roofing Incorporated is a premium level roofing company serving discerning property owners in Mendocino County. We are here to serve you and provide a variety of roofing services.
Not everyone wants a "Cadillac" roof or needs one. The best roof you can afford will save you money in years to come. I always try to match whatever roof I recommend to the desires and needs of the owner and will provide several options of roofing and cost when needed. A "cheap" roof is almost always a bad deal. The only way the roofer can offer a cheap roof is by cutting corners on labor or materials. Cheaper materials will fail earlier, even blow off in a storm. If the materials are up to standard, the roofer offering a cheap roof might cut corners by using inexperienced or uninsured labor.
According to the Contractors State Licensing Board (CSLB) we can no longer use the phrase fully insured. Dunlap Roofing has workers compensation, general liability and vehicle insurances all with 1 million dollar limits. Currently there are only a very few companies in the state of California offering liability insurance to roofing contractors. The premium cost is based largely on gross sales and types of roofing work done. Each company has different "exclusions" to deal with. An exclusion is something a contractor is not covered for.
In the Ukiah Valley the key word is HOT. In the summer temperatures easily climb into the 100's. Heat is the number one enemy of most roofing systems (not to mention roofers). So we are ever aware to use the correct products designed to stand up to the heat. In the following links be sure to check out the white TPO and Duro-Last products we use on flat roofing. By the way, the view of the Ukiah, California area isn't all that bad in the valley either.
Friendly, very fair owner. I can always count On a professional job being done in a timely manner.
Very Friendly and very professional! Great work at a reasonable price!
I consulted with Steve on a chronic roofing situation I was dealing with in the Midwest that despite hiring numerous contractors it continued to leak. Steve provided superb guidance for a solution that has now worked perfectly these past 5+ years without a single leak recurring. Thanks Steve!
A warm 50F under cloudy skies this Friday morning on the coast. Rain should start about mid-morning. Mostly clear skies & breezy for the weekend. More rain is forecast for early next week!
I had clear skies in the wee hours but some clouds are moving in now, 41F to start the day on the coast. Rain should arrive early tomorrow morning and then be done by Saturday morning. A good amount of rain returns Monday and for much of the week. Hopefully we get a LOT of it.
