Both are clay based and fired for hardness. Porcelain tiles are fired at a higher temperature than ceramic making porcelain a stronger denser tile. The glazes applied to these tiles make them stain and scratch resistant and is easy to clean. They can be installed on the floor or the wall and is always a good idea to keep a little extra tile in the same dye lot in case a repair is needed later. Well that depends! Tiles are cool in the summer but can also be made warm in the winter if you have them installed over a floor heating system controlled by a thermostat.

Solid hardwood was once viewed by consumers and even some solid wood makers as being the one and only true wood flooring, and engineered was thought of as being inferior. But, this idea is not necessarily correct. The real question is which will best fit your unique situation. When deciding on a solid or engineered wood, it can depend on where it is being installed and your environment. It could have to do with the type of installation needed (float vs nail down), thickness, or whether a wood is rated to go below grade.
Granite is a natural stone full of an arrangement of color and wonder. Nature has made each slab uniquely different and becomes a work of art in your home. It is a very durable stone that has been used as countertop material for years. You can use granite in a variety of applications throughout your home, from kitchens to bathrooms and beyond. Quartz countertops are engineered from natural quartzite with other elements. The resins create a non-porous surface so they do not need to be sealed like natural stone.
