We have extensive experience with full-scale restoration of Victorian and Edwardian exteriors and have restored many homes (some covered in asbestos tiles) to their former grandeur. We have long-term relationships with artisans who replicate original plaster moldings and wood architectural details or create new ones designed by us.
This exterior of this home at 4444 20th Street clearly shows wear and tear from weather and neglect. Previous owners replaced architectural elements, such as finials and stairs, fashioned from pine or other wood that not only didn't match the building's design but were also rotting. Existing architectural details, such as porch's column tops and window moldings, now show beautifully with accent colors and gold leaf. We removed plants that were obstructing the front of the house, to highlight the elegance of the front entry and the balance of the complete facade.
