The Maintenance Shop has provided handyman services and repairs to homes and businesses in Meridian and Boise, Idaho and throughout the Treasure Valley for nearly 25 years. Our most frequently requested handyman services are listed below, but you can visit our handyman repair services page for a more indepth look at the repairs we provide. As a handyman service, we can save you money by taking care of all your repairs instead of hiring individual companies for the work. We are also less expensive than the franchised handyman service companies but provide the same services.
The Maintenance Shop is a locally owned and family operated business established in 1994. We have been in the Treasure Valley since 1997. Owner Steven M. Crist has over 30 years experience in the home repair and property management industry. The name " The Maintenance Shop" comes from many years of working in apartment communities that had a location on the property called the maintenance shop. This shop contained everything needed to complete and task on the property. Steve wants customers to feel that by calling The Maintenance Shop they have the same advantage; one shop that can handle any repair needs they may have.
With 30+ years in the repair industry, there isn't much we do not do, or haven't done at one point or another. Use the information below to go to the specific page of the service you need. The items shown below are the most common handyman repairs that we do, but we cover about every repair you home could possibly need. Our handyman services cover the entire Treasure Valley. We have done maintenance and repair in Parma, Fruitland, and Payette, and as far as Idaho City, Centerville, McCall, Stanley, Mountain Home, and Ontario, Oregon.
A dryer vent cleanout we did yesterday was probably one of the worst ones we have had to do. The previous owners told our customers that it never really vented well even after being cleaned out. We removed enough dryer lint to fill HALF of a 16-gallon shop vac. Much of this was compacted deep in...
We spent the day yesterday in "The Big Apple of Idaho", (Fruitland) installing new piping, a whole house filter, and a water softener in a shed attached to a carport.

Every two years I have to take a class to keep my backflow license active. I took the class in Twin Falls, so all set for another two years. Two years from now it will be good to have Jacob taking the class with me to keep his license up.
We are proud to announce that Jacob has completed and passed the week-long course to meet the state requirements to be a backflow tester. With our ever-increasing workload in all areas of repairs and maintenance, it will be nice to have someone other than myself to handle all the backflow test...
As a general rule, I don't make political posts on our business page, nor on my personal page either. In my opinion, political statements do not belong on a Facebook business page, because political affiliation has nothing to do with job quality.
