I retired from Jim Walter Resources in 2006 after completing 27 years of service as a coal miner. Since retirement, I have been self-employed doing construction and remodeling. During my time as a contractor, I have become increasingly interested in the feasibility and cost-benefits of solar energy. I initially began installing solar attic fans and shortly thereafter, began combining the attic fans and radiant barriers. It has been amazing to see how much these two systems combined have made a difference in my own home's energy saving, as well as those of my clients.
