These are our most recent projects. Visit the Legacy Solar Co-op portfolio page to browse the gallery of all the community solar projects our members have helped to support! New! Check out our community solar projects map! We joined Legacy Solar Co-op because we wanted to dedicate our attention to something small and help it grow in to an everyday concept in Wisconsin. This form of sustainable energy investment is much more tangible and a sensible option given we can't currently install solar panels on our house.
Solar power builds resiliency in our neighborhoods and encourages us to be good stewards of our air, water and earth. Solar energy is reliable technology with long-term benefits. This is true for individuals, communities and organizations committed to making financially and ecologically sound decisions. Legacy Solar Co-op is a Wisconsin-based, member-owned cooperative providing solar and energy efficiency products and services. Our goal is to bring people together to support local and statewide solar and other clean energy initiatives.
The Slice-of-Sun solar bonds program allows Co-op members to help fund our Co-op's investments into community solar projects and earn up to 4% interest on your Member Co-op bonds. Each $250 solar bond (your slice-of-sun) is the equivalent of roughly one solar panel, making the price to participate about $1.00 per Watt. That's cheaper than buying solar for your own home. It's also lower than any utility sponsored community solar program because we don't have to pay shareholders 15% or more in profits to stay in business.

Green Tier Legacy Communities are municipalities and counties across Wisconsin that are actively building their sustainable capacity. Led by the important work of 1000 Friends of Wisconsin and other partners, and coordinated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, this program now includes...
