Additionally, we continue to refine the polishing process. As an example, our first four grinds (polishing steps) are done with a wet process. We capture all of the concrete dust from grinding in a slurry. This eliminates any potential for concrete dust contamination in the building. The wet process also cools and lubricates the diamonds during the grinding process to avoid excessive scratching of the concrete. Deep scratches affect the clarity and luster of the gloss in the final finish. Because every slab is different and customer needs vary, polishing concrete is as much an art as it is a science.
