John O'Connell began homebrewing at the same time he began to work professionally as an architect. His knowledge of the brewing process, equipment, along with his brewing awards and beer judging credits is on par with his architectural education and experience. In other words, he speaks the language of the brewer and understand's their specific needs. Breweries are unique spaces, part industrial manufacturing (brewery) and part community assembly area (tasting room). A design is successful when it accommodates the needs of both and finesses them into the client's one vision.
