Good Morning, I got a call last Sept. to estimate window repairs on a home that had been neglected. It was bad, real bad. Multiple windows with the repairs estimated at over $10,000...the majority being replacement sash/ s and balances plus lots of rot damage on the frame components. We repaired all they could afford. This week I got the call again. That which was ignored had gotten significantly worse....to the point the entire window unit will need to be replaced. I understand you can do so...
Another day of door repairs....2nd break in repair in 2 weeks. There are security plates you can install on any exterior door...just takes a little know how, and the right tools....experi ence also helps. It uses 6.. 3 1'2" screws that will keep anyone from kicking a door in..it is a steel plate approx. 12" long that you mount, mortised or non-mortised, onto the door jamb..The screws go into the studs not just the door jamb...best done by removing the interior trim on the lock side, install a 3.
