Our building & grounds remain closed to the general public except by appointment, this includes surrendering a animal. Please call ahead and be prepared to wait outside the gates. Please wear a mask when interacting with shelter staff. In addition to our shelter and thrift store, we also house cats at Feeders Supply in Frankfort that are available for adoption during their business hours. The paperwork and fees are the same as at the shelter facility.
The mission of Franklin County Humane Society is to care for our area's homeless animals, to re-home as many animals as possible, and to improve animal welfare throughout our community. As an open-admission shelter, we accept all cats and dogs in need. We are an independent 501c3 organization, and we are contracted by the City of Frankfort and the Franklin County Fiscal Court for animal control services. We have wonderful dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption. We accept animals surrendered by citizens at no charge, and we care for lost, stray and homeless animals.
We are anxious to see everyone this weekend! 😃
Our dearest Blondie passed away this afternoon. Blondie will be greatly missed by staff, volunteers and her many friends, especially her best friend, Lionel.
