E. Savory name synonymous with honesty, knowledge, quality, and professionalism with generations of Toledo families. Our Certified Arborists and support staff are highly trained professionals dedicated to excellence in the care of your trees and shrubs. Meet our friendly office staff and discover the smiling faces on the other end of the telephone connection!

The roots of L.E. Savory Tree & Lawn Service, Inc. extend all the way back to 1951, when Lester E. Savory, Sr. set out to provide professional and knowledgeable tree care for the people of the Toledo, Ohio area. With limited equipment and resources, but unlimited determination, Les began the company that has now evolved into a growing, multi-service corporation. Les's wife, Beulah, supported him in the business, serving as an office manager, until her death in 1988. Les Savory saw the benefits of continuing education early on.

Savory is pleased to provide the most up-to-date organic program in our area. For those who are sensitive to a traditional program, we offer a low-cost, organic-based option. The turf care specialists at L.E. Savory are fully trained and licensed to meet all your lawn care needs. Ask us about core aeration, lawn renovations, soil testing, fungus controls and FREE applications from referrals!

Core aeration is the process of lifting plugs of soil and turf throughout the yard in order to reduce soil compaction. Constant foot traffic and over watering compact soil can reduce the amount of oxygen available to root systems. Periods of drought can also lead to soil compaction. Proper oxygen levels are essential for root expansion and for the overall health of your trees. Compacted soil can cause severe decline in an otherwise "healthy" tree and lawn.

For the most part, mother nature provides the majority of nutrients essential for growth and maintenance of her native trees in an undisturbed site. The soil our trees and shrubs are forced to exist in, however, is far from being an undisturbed site. A majority of the nutrient rich virgin soil is removed or covered when buildings are constructed. Many non-native trees and shrubs are planted into this compromised situation. Furthermore, most leaf litter which decomposes and adds nutrients to the soil is removed.

Thorough pruning of trees involves a great deal more than lopping off a few limbs close to the ground. Our customers have come to appreciate the value of their investment in the quality pruning by L.E. Savory Tree & Lawn Service. Trees are thoroughly inspected by our staff to determine the limbs which most need to be removed. We then remove all debris, and leave the worksite as clean as when our crews arrive. Pruning will enhance the attractiveness and safety of your trees, as well as prolong their life.

Insects and fungi can damage and possibly consume the foliage of trees and shrubs. This causes severe stress since the plant is no longer able to manufacture the sugars (photosynthesis) it depends on to remain healthy. The plant must then rely on nutrient reserves, if available, to create new leaves. Not only is the health of the tree compromised, but so is its beauty. Our Certified Arborists identify which pests exist, and then determine an appropriate plan of attack. In the battle against insects and fungi, timing and proper chemical use are everything.

We had some trees tended to in our yard a couple years ago and these guys were polite and done an excellent job

I should have taken the time a few years ago to say what outstanding service I have received from Savory Tree Service. I don't believe you will find a more polite and knowledgeable staff. They have saved a few trees for me over the years, that I was almost sure were dying. Patrick came out to my home a few days ago and once again offered advice and reassurance to what one of my spruce trees needed. Thank you

What's new?

To the phone number ending in 5346 from the bottom of my heart (which is very heavy right now) I am truly sorry. Let me tell you why I am truly sorry; Yesterday a phone call came in from this number a young lady who was wanting to know if our company had Certified Arborists? & wanted to know if we stop out and give Evaulations of trees? I responded with "yes we could give her an estimate" She reiterated "Is this something we do?"So I then responed with "unless you want to bring your trees.

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of a long term employee, Joe M. Joe had battled cancer for some time. There was no one more skilled at the pruning of ornamentals than Joe! Here at L.E. Savory, we are all like family; there is not one of us whom will not miss him!
