Sunrise Gardens Landscape began in 2009 when Adam Sandberg decided to go out on his own. With the knowledge and experience from years working in the Delavan and Lake Geneva area, Adam set out to create a small company that could offer its customers a more enjoyable landscape experience. As a small family-operated business, we can provide the personal service, responsiveness, accountability, and attention to detail that is harder to get from some of the bigger landscape companies. Adam Sandberg has been in the Landscape industry for almost 20 years.
Certain types of concrete pavers are installed with a special base and joint filler to create a permeable surface which allows water to drain down through it. There are many benefits and good reasons to use permeable pavers. Reduce Runoff - Rain and snow go down through the surface, instead of running off. This can help solve erosion, puddling and flooding problems. It also prevents pollutants from reaching watersheds and reduces water load on sewer systems Protect Lakes and Streams - Permeable surfaces may be required near shorelines, to help protect them from erosion and pollution Recharge groundwater - Higher volumns of water can reach the groundwater, and the water is filtered as it percolates down through the base aggregate layers Benefit Plantings - More water is draining down in your yard instead of washing away, and is available for your trees and shrubs Save money over time - Permeable systems have a higher initial cost, but if will save you money over time if they are fixing drainage problems and reducing your watering needs.
The key to a successful hardscape is planning for how water run-off will be affected. If drainage is not planned for properly, water can ruin a project and create costly property damage. About 90% of the time spent on installation is in proper preparation of the base- the parts you don't see. Proper base is critical to the longevity of the hardscape. Our patios and walks are built with a 6 minimum base. By comparison, industry standard is only 3-4. Driveways are built with a 14" minimum base, while industry standard is only 10- 12".
Sunrise Gardens LLC graded our backyard this fall and worked their magic to redirect water away from our house. I keep seeing videos of flooding.
