We launched in January 1946 under the name Precision Electric Company and the vision of Virgil W. Dake, who fine-tuned his repair and mechanical skills at a large cotton-seed oil mill. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and powered by grit and skills, Virgil built up a small repair shop on Jackson Street on Phoenix, where we still are today. WWII ended about a year later, leaving America short on raw materials including copper. New electric motors were a scarce commodity when the city of Phoenix converted its electrical power system from 25 to 60 cycles.
