If you smell fuel in the cabin of your Volvo while you are driving, pull over at the earliest and safest time. Check the gas cap to make sure it is in place and is secure. If not, tighten it down and see if this corrects the problem. If the cap is in place, there may be a leak in the line. Call to have your vehicle towed in and repaired.
