We make beautiful, high-quality greenhouse kits in our factory in Portland, Oregon using the finest redwood available - Clear All-Heart Redwood - and double-strength glass. Excellent materials make our greenhouses naturally durable and beautiful. A wide variety of sizes and styles are available. Our kits can be in lean-to, freestanding and attached styles, large or small. We can modify our kits to fit custom situations. In response to the four-week freeze in Multnomah County, Oregon (that in which Sturdi-Built resides), we are cancelling all currently scheduled showroom tour visits and will not be scheduling new showroom visits until the beginning of 2021.
Sturdi-Built Greenhouse Manufacturing Company can trace its beginnings back over 65 years. With the original owners running a commercial orchid greenhouse business, the need for small home and hobby redwood greenhouses for orchid customers was quickly realized. Eventually, the original orchid nursery was transformed into our beautiful wood shop where all of our greenhouses are manufactured from the highest quality redwood available. In 1968, The Warner Family bought Sturdi-Built Greenhouse Manufacturing Co.
In today's global economy " Made in America " can mean several things. Too often it means taking a handful of parts produced overseas and assembling them in a US factory. We start with redwood grown, sustainably harvested, and milled in California and Southern Oregon. Today's high quality second growth and salvaged redwood is responsibly managed. For greenhouse glazing, we prefer glass. Secondary processes performed on the glass (cutting to size, tempering, polishing, etc) are done locally. Once these raw materials are brought into our factory in Portland Oregon, our skilled employees transform them into parts for our greenhouses.
