Window materials and options have changed a lot over the years as energy codes have become more strict, and as utility rates have climbed. Generically, they are white vinyl double pane windows, usually with a low-e (low emissivity) coating that will help control heat flow in and out of the home. Be aware that there are regional differences and climate zones that help determine what would be a good product for your area. This is best shown as the Energy Star Map. Here in California, the minimum required energy rating is called the Title 24 Section 6 requirement.
