Growing up in the family business, Joe expanded Frei Plumbing & Heating after he took the reins from his father, Joe Sr., in 1996. With a multi-division company of 15 employees and over 2,000 customers, he sold the business in 2001 to begin a new chapter. When Joe was 14, his father would drop him off at a job site and tell him to "dig until I come back." Joe had always enjoyed the utility division of his former company, and was excited to take on the challenge of starting a dedicated utility excavating company.
