My online chemistry class required a lab kit from this company. Not only I have to pay over $200, my lab kit also came 2 days late (They charged $20 for shipping). My class is a may-mester and it is only 2.5 weeks, so that messed things up. Additionally, the lab kit is not worth $200. Why can't they just give us the correctly cut chromatography papers; I had to sit there and cut the paper to the size I needed, which was wrong in the directions. Plus the lab instructions of some labs do not match with the materials provided (wrong measurements). The lab manual is poorly written and very inconsistent. For example, in one of the labs, the first step askes me to use 5 mL of solution, however, on the next step on talked about the same solution but 3 mL. They do not include extra of any consumables in the kit. If something goes wrong, you cannot redo an activity. And the directions are not clear enough!
I love this company! We have been using them for over 10 yrs now and the service quality has never wavered. We love our Gel Ant Farms and the painted lady butterfly larvae kits! Everything always come live, healthy, and with great additional teaching tools (posters & informational items). I have loved teaching for 17 years now and science is still one of my favorite things to teach!
Carolina Biological has never let me down. We order live plants, fish, snails for our ecosystems every year. The children are always excited when our shipment arrives!
