Arlington Grass Company opened at its present location on Cooper Street in October of 1972. The grass company began as Kelley Grass and was located on Abram Street east of the General Motors Plant. My father, Wells Watson, began working for Mr. Kelley in the summers when he was 16 years old, purchasing the business at age 22 before I was born. I began working with my Dad at 9 years old and eventually took over the business in 2007. When the business opened, grass was the only product sold. Now we offer a variety of grasses, dirt, rocks and boulders for all of your lawn care needs.
From all of us at Arlington Grass, we deeply appreciate all of your past business and your future business as well. Our turf farms have been hit hard by a terrible winter storm that had detrimental effects to our turf fields. It has definitely changed our turf inventory throughout our farms. We have lost 2 months of growing time that we needed to finish growing out our inventory. Basically, what that means is that there will be a limited amount of turf available for this spring.
With Spring on its way, we are going back to our original hours from 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am to 4 pm on Saturdays. We are back in the shop after our Winter Storm. We haved talked with our grass farms, and it seems that they are still wet from all of the recent weather. We are pushing for some sod this weekend, so give us a call if you are looking for some new grass. We hope that you are all well after a long week, and we hope to hear from y’all soon.
