Gerald and Leslye Woodard started Woodard Mercantile in 1991 at the little old elevator in Maize. Seven years later they moved up the road to open the store on Maize road (4160 N Maize Road) into a new building with the desire to provide unique products in a great setting. Along the way they acquired 3 great boys: Gage, Grady and Gavin. In 2017 a second Woodard Mercantile location was opened up on the east side of Wichita in Andover (1313 E Hwy. 54 Andover) where they have extended their same friendly service & quality products to the east side of town.
Great service, quality products, and, knowledgeable staff. And they give my dogs gourmet dog treats when I bring them in. Louie and Nina love this.
I love this store it has the cutest lawn ornaments. The ladies there are friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable.
I LOVE going into Woodards! Friendly, informed staff will bend over backwards for service. And help you find whatever you are looking for. It is fun just to go browse even when you don't "need" anything. As a horse person. Their shavings are superior to any I have ever tried, they carry the supplements i use, and the feed is always fresher than the chain stores. i love pulling up and seeing the rocking chairs on the porch! We just purchased a Traeger smoker/grill from them and LOVE IT! Keep up the good work! You guys are the best! I will always be a customer!
