In Spring of 1984, Philip Reese opened the doors of Reese's Plants in downtown Columbia, SC, on Sunset Drive in small greenhouse. After about 12 years of selling and renting seasonal flowers, tropical plants and some outdoor palms, we expanded our plant product line to include landscape plants and discontinued the rental portion of our business. With the growth of our business we begin to wholesale by selling and direct-shipping loads of plant material to other nurseries and landscape planting sites around the South.
