Central Carolina Concrete was founded in May 2000 by Randall Buchanan. Randy has been in the concrete business since 1976 and prior to that, he was involved in the family aggregate business which dates back to the 1930s. While Central Carolina Concrete may be a young company, it is built on a foundation of experience and a "hands-on" understanding of what it takes to perform a successful concrete job. At Central Carolina Concrete, our employees have many years of experience working in the concrete industry.

This process is slightly different than pouring without a previous concrete surface. The contractor will look over the concrete to make sure it's in good condition before cleaning it and pouring over the top of it. The conditions your contractor has to work in can affect the concrete pouring job in several ways. The effects can be especially significant if the worksite is outside rather than in a sheltered place (such as a garage or basement). Some workarounds to enable concrete pouring in winter include concrete curing blankets, snow melting mats to remove snow before a pour, and using a slightly drier concrete mix that has additional cement for strength.

Are you ready to renovate your home's exterior area? Create a backyard oasis that's party-ready with an outdoor kitchen. If this upgrade is on your home improvement agenda, take a look at how you can use concrete in your backyard kitchen design and what you need to know about this elegant option. You can also use concrete as a designer accent. Create a custom concrete backsplash, use the material in the kitchen's island, add a water feature, or coordinate the countertops with concrete-accented benches.

To those outside the concrete industry, all concrete seems like more or less the same thing. Yet the more you learn about the world of concrete, the more you recognize the incredible diversity it contains. Manufacturers and contractors constantly experiment with new and exciting ways to improve concrete performance. One technique that has continued to gain traction goes by the name of steel fiber concrete. Unfortunately, many customers still don't understand the advantages posed by this particular type of concrete mix.

Concrete has a lot of uses, but it is not a generic substance or one-size-fits-all solution. You need to understand a few things to ensure that you get concrete that will hold up to your needs and will last over the years. The concrete mix is the most critical part to consider when you buy concrete. Cement, gravel, sand, and water make up the mix, which is customized to fit the use. The concrete company can adjust the aggregates to create a mix that works well for your situation. They will custom mix the concrete at the plant for you before delivery.
