In July 2019, Cal Water acquired the water distribution assets of Travis Air Force Base from the U.S. Department of Defense. Cal Water will provide water utility service to the base for a term of 50 years, and will operate, maintain, and upgrade the water system infrastructure for TAFB's more than 15,000 active and reserve personnel and civilians.

Cal Water has provided high-quality water utility services in the communities of Portola Valley, Woodside, Atherton, and portions of Menlo Park, Redwood City, and San Mateo County since 1936. Skyline County's water system became part of the Bear Gulch district in 2009. To meet our customers' needs, we use a combination of local surface water and surface water purchased from the City and County of San Francisco (SFPUC). The local surface water, about 11% of our total supply, comes from our 1,200-acre watershed in the Woodside hills; it is collected and treated at our reservoir and treatment plant in Atherton.

Cal Water's Antelope Valley District was formed in 2000 with the purchase of Antelope Valley Water Company, which began serving the area in 1965. On July 1, 2007, Cal Water took over ownership of the Grand Oaks system. Previously, we served customers and maintained the Grand Oaks system through an operating contract. We serve approximately 1,400 customer connections in our Fremont Valley, Grand Oaks, Lancaster, Lake Hughes, and Leona Valley water systems. Most of the water we provide is pumped from local aquifers by wells located throughout our service area.

For corporate, investor, and employment information, visit the California Water Service Group web site. California Water Service (Cal Water) is the largest regulated American water utility west of the Mississippi River and the third largest in the country. Formed in 1926, the San Jose-based company serves 489,600 customer connections through 28 Customer and Operations Centers throughout the state. Cal Water is the largest subsidiary of the California Water Service Group, which also includes Washington Water Service, New Mexico Water Service, Hawaii Water Service, HWS Utility Services, and CWS Utility Services.

Cal Water's Livermore District was formed in 1927 with the purchase of the water system from Pacific Gas and Electric Company. In addition to the 17,900 customer connections in our Livermore system, we serve 25 customer connections under and operations and maintenance contract with Crane Ridge Mutual Water Company. To meet our Livermore and Crane Ridge Mutual customers' needs, we use a combination of local groundwater pumped from 12 wells and surface water purchased from Alameda County, Zone 7 Water Agency.

Due to the transition of the Visalia city services contract, any payment arrangements made on the Cal Water site will only include payments for water services, not city services. If you would like to make a payment extension, please contact the Visalia Customer Center at (559) 624-1600. We apologize for the inconvenience. Cal Water's Visalia District was formed in 1926 with the purchase of the Visalia Water Company. We proactively maintain and upgrade our facilities to ensure a reliable, high-quality supply.

Cal Water's Bayshore District was formed in 1931 with the purchase of the South San Francisco Water Company, the San Carlos Water Company, and the San Mateo water system from Pacific Water Company. We proactively maintain and upgrade our facilities to ensure a reliable, high-quality supply. Water for our San Carlos customers is purchased from the City and County of San Francisco (SFPUC). The San Carlos system utilizes 17 storage tanks and 24 booster pumps. Water for our San Mateo customers is also purchased from the City and County of San Francisco (SFPUC).

Cal Water's Los Altos Suburban District was formed in 1931 with the purchase of the Los Altos Water Company. To meet the needs of our customers in Los Altos and parts of Los Altos Hills, Cupertino, Mountain View, and Sunnyvale, we use a combination of local groundwater and imported water. Our imported water, which is treated surface water purchased from the Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD), comes from SCVWD reservoirs and the San Joaquin-Sacramento River Delta. Our water system includes 297 miles of pipeline, 65 booster pumps, and 46 storage tanks.

Water utility services for the Tesoro Viejo community are provided by the Tesoro Viejo Master Mutual Water Company. Cal Water, serving California since 1926, will be operating and maintaining the water, wastewater, recycled water, storm water, and agricultural water systems on TVMMWC's behalf, and will oversee installation of capital improvements to expand the utility systems. Cal Water is committed to providing reliable, high-quality water utility services to residents and businesses in Tesoro Viejo and will also provide customer service for the community's water utility services through our Selma District Customer Center.
