Here is an update on our current restoration project. On this project the clients have chosen to use radiant floor heat to heat the entire house including the basement. I have received tons of questions on how radiant heat works and here is a brief description of the basics. In a radiant setup, the warmth is supplied by hot-water tubes or electric wires buried underneath the floor. As the invisible waves of thermal radiation rise from below, t.hey warm up any objects they strike, which radiate that captured heat in turn.
