My Grandfather maintained a handyman service for many years serving the Hampton Roads area. Then, my father started a company in the 1960's specializing in aluminum siding installation and home remodeling. Back then, there weren't any of the large supply houses and home centers that we have today. So when my father sold a job, he would always order extra materials. He started stocking aluminum siding to install. As time progressed, other contractors started buying siding from my father. During the winters when people weren't thinking about outside projects like siding, he started selling and installing prefab fireplaces to keep his employees working during the winter.
