Using the principles of RECYCLE, REDUCE, REUSE, to fully represent and serve the citizens of Craighead county in the safe, efficient, economical, and lawful disposal of solid waste that results in "shielding our natural resources thru proper disposal." The Arkansas Solid Waste Management Act (Act 237) of 1971 defined the responsibilities and authority for local political bodies to manage their solid waste streams and the rules and regulations that govern those bodies. Our company was born out of this act, and had evolved over the years through different names, different service areas, different management, and different staffs to what it is today.

After the inclement weather over the last couple of weeks, one question that keeps coming up: "Can I bring my trash to the landfill if I am a resident inside Craighead County?" The answer is YES! Residents can bring their own trash to the landfill. We are open M-F from 8-4 and Sat. 8-Noon. Residents from inside the city limits of Jonesboro do not have to pay for household waste disposal (unless it is construction-ty pe material). Dedman's Sanitation has decided not to run today and start routes Monday. Please realize that many of the roads they go on still pose a threat to the trucks.

Legacy Landfill is open until 4:00 p.m. today to allow residents more time to dispose of accumulated trash. Regular hours 8-4 M-F and 8-Noon Saturday.

Dedman's Sanitation is running routes today where they can safely. We are not sure where. Downum's Waste Pro is doing the same, as is Marck Waste Haulers and Beeson Sanitation.
