SKB Environmental is a solid waste firm located in Minnesota providing innovative total waste management solutions. We provide waste processing, recycling, hauling, and environmentally sound waste disposal services. SKB Recycling, a subsidiary, serves the construction and demolition industry by providing complete recycling services and recycled products for green-building programs such as USGBC's LEED. Our recycling rates exceed 90%--we can guarantee contractors 2 LEED points toward the certification of their green-building projects.
In those early years, SKB Environmental's primary function was to compliment the Carl Bolander & Sons Company demolition business, arranging cost-effective disposal services for construction and demolition (C&D) debris. In 1989, we designed and permitted Minnesota's first state-of-the-art landfill for disposal of C&D waste. Typical of the company's commitment to environmentally responsibility, the Rich Valley Landfill is the first clay lined C&D landfill with leachate collection in Minnesota. In fact, it is one of a handful of C&D facilities in the nation that combine such rigorous design features with stringent operating practices and groundwater monitoring - becoming a model facility for the C&D industry.
The SKB Environmental Rosemount Trust Fund was established to provide for numerous community programs and activities for Rosemount's citizens. The Trust Fund covered the costs to purchase the land for The Dakota County Robert Trail Library in Rosemount. The Trust Fund has also covered costs to construct several athletic fields and provide street lighting in Rosemount. Other past beneficiaries of the fund include: The Boy Scouts of America, the Dakota County Health Department, Alternative Learning Center, Meals on Wheels, and local youth sports - just to name a few.
