Hilbrands Carpet Care is founded by me, John Hilbrands. I am an owner operator and am still on every job I schedule. When I was young I was an apartment maintence man and manager, In 1985 I got a job with a large carpet cleaning firm called Century Carpet Care. They were a well liked firm that also manufactured truck mounts and equipment so it was an industry insider. They cleaned using every method from bonnet, to shampoo, to steam, yet we mostly did steam clean specializing in no residue truck mounted steam cleaning.

By vacuuming carpet you remove damaging grit that wears down carpet it also removes soils before they build up. I still prefer a bag based vacuum over a bag less and a well made lighter unit. My personal choices are a Sanitaire for work and a Riccar for home. But really most issues are from having an older broken unit and even a new 60.00 vacuum will beat an older poorly maintained unit. Truck mounted steam or hot water extraction (same thing) is recommended once per year. Hot water extraction is the proper name for steam cleaning and the industry has been trying to change it for years but it is the same thing.

I have categorized the different carpet cleaning processes going from weakest to strongest. I do all but recommend truck mounted steam or dual process carpet cleaning. They clean the best and are the only one recommended by carpet manufacturers (see below for references). Advantages/Disadvantages are in my opinion. Advantages: Fast drying time (about 2 hours). Disadvantages: Works by encapsulating soil, blending in and absorption by bonnet. Encapsulated soil in the carpet should be vacuumed to remove residue along with soil the next day by customer.

Many customers ask how something is done or how to prepare. So let me take you through a walk through of a typical job so some of these questions can be answered (in excruciating detail). First we usually park in the driveway with the van side door towards the front door (not required but is typical), this is to keep children from getting into the van and hoses from crossing the sidewalk avoiding a tripping hazard, so Its good to have driveway clear and your car out of garage in case you need it.

What's new?

Today in a Carpet Cleaning near Temecula I had a customer that 2 months ago had a big name carpet cleaning company charge her 800.00 for 3 rooms cleaning and 1 spot deodorization. Her end result is a smelly home and that one spot he worked on is shown below it was browned, smelly and a 3 foot...

Urine Carpet damage carpet cleaning: On this Temecula carpet before and after image we show heavy urine damage. To clean them takes some special work. While the dark grey spots come out easily the brown colored spots require an acidic cleaning the same as if it were coffee stains.
