Tip for this time of the year if you have a chimney fire. As fast as possible, get a big glass of water and throw it into the hot firebox Close the door close the air intake and the steam will put the chimney fire in seconds. The quicker the fire is stopped the less damage could occur. Chimney fires heat up to 2000 degrees which can cause severe damage the chimney and the house. The sooner the fire is put out the less damage can occur
