Custom Dwellings is a family owned design/build residential construction company with over 20 years combined experience. Russell and Stephanie Ives founded the company on the belief that mass produced homes by their very nature can not fit everyone's needs and desires. With Russell handling the construction and Stephanie handling the design, their motivation has always been and always will be, to provide exceptional quality and customer satisfaction, whether working on a small remodeling project or a new custom home.

Custom Dwellings provides outstanding home building and remodeling experiences by providing professional design and project management services. These services are targeted to home owners seeking to improve the space, function, and aesthetics of their homes by either remodeling or building from "scratch."

There has never been any doubt in Stephanie's mind what she wanted to do when she grew up. The influence of her grandparents (artists, realtor, cabinet maker, and engineer) during her formative years certainly fueled her desire to design and build homes. High school and college mission trips to rural Appalachia, Jamaica, and Mexico provided her hands on experience with a variety of building techniques and styles. Her formal education came from the "North Avenue Trade School", graduating with a degree in Architecture and minor in Building Construction from Georgia Tech after too many late nights in the studio.

Our greatest satisfaction has come from building relationships with home owners where they collaborate with a network of talented designers to build the owner's dream home the way they want it, not the way someone in a distant corporate office decided they should want it. We strive to provide customers with what they truly want, either by building a home from scratch, or by altering existing homes to better fit the owner's changing lifestyle.
