Yesterday, Sunday, we noticed a leak in our garage by the main shut off. I opened the wall and found a small leak coming from a 1/2 pipe connection. We turned our water off and Monday morning called Barnett Plumbing because of the great reviews and frequently seeing their trucks in my neighborhood, big mistake. When I spoke to them on the phone I asked about their rate structure and was told that it varies by the job, I figured it would still be within reason.
They arrived a couple hours later and we were told that that it would cost $495 to do the repair. I felt violated. I knew this is a small job and the parts were cheap but we have two small children and need running water so I regrettingly agreed. The guy took an hour and a half lunch break then completed the job in 45 minutes to an hour. Yes they got the job done but I would never use this company again.
They have no rate structure and just gouge you because you need the job done. The invoice does not even describe how they got to the price they came up with. Maybe their hourly rate is $475/hour and $20 for parts but if I had known that I would have called someone else. Stay away from this company.
