I *never* leave reviews, but I am definitely going to this time!). So, about 6 weeks ago my hubby took my Kirby G4 to be tuned up (oiled, belts changed, etc) at Service All Vacuum at Time Corners. It was also making a very strange noise, so the guy was asked to check it out. He claimed that it needed a beater brush (for another $80), but I knew it didn't because it was making that sound the loudest with the hose attachment on it (not as loud with the beater brush attachment) - so I told him NOT to replace the beater brush. A week later, they said it was ready, so my hubby went to pick it up and he paid the $50+ tune-up bill. A few days later, the noise was louder than ever. I called them, and the girl said that the owner would be in on Wednesday, and to bring it back then. My hubby brought it back in on Wednesday, and the guy (who was on the phone yelling at a customer saying that he "only has two hands and can't do it ALL") denied ever seeing him before. He cussed at my hubby (f-bombs) as he was ranting that he should "just close up the shop and be done!" When my hubby presented the receipt as proof that he HAS seen him before, the guy (reluctantly) decided to listen to what my hubby was saying. The guy said that he would take another look, and would call him when it was ready. About 4 days later, I went with him to pick it up - and I was ready to tell this guy what I thought of the way he treated my husband. The guy was SO hyper, it made me nervous to be in his presence, so we left with the vacuum cleaner. In about 2 weeks, the noise was SO loud, I couldn't stand it. So, I brought it to United Vacuum (which is where I had been bringing it for 20+ years before I moved to the other side of town). I explained what happened at Service All, and that I didn't care how far I had to travel - I was bringing it back to them to get the PROPER care for my 25-year old vacuum! The gentleman took off the beater brush assembly and looked at my vacuum for less than 10 seconds and said, "Yep, I see the problem right now. You have a cracked fan. That other guy should have seen that right away. See, there's hair caught in the cracks, and you can see the black lines where the cracks are." (Hallelujah!). So, I left my beloved vacuum there, and they called today to say it was ready for pick up. My hubby gets there to pick it up, and was told that the belt that was on it was NOT new (so the other guy didn't even do the tune up that we paid him to do!), and said they felt so bad for what we went through with Service All, they ONLY charged me for the fan. NO labor! True story. United Vacuum is the BEST! Not only do they have compassion for others, but they really know the value of a returning customer- which I DEFINITELY am! Thank you, United Vacuum, for the great service! I will be telling everyone I know this story!
