Laura is also well known for her cityscapes, focusing regularly on landmark Bristol scenes, from the historic Bristol Docks, to the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. A growing number of followers receive monthly ‘studio updates' of life behind the scenes as a painter. These blog posts often show works in progress, the successes, even the failures that can sometimes be rescued - all stuff that helps you understand the process behind a painting. Laura works and lives in Bristol as a contemporary landscape painter.

City views, English vineyards, woodland walks, move Laura to express her emotions with sparing strokes of colour and balanced, contrasting tones. Techniques learned ranging from painter/writer Yuri Koval in the 1990's when living in Moscow, to the Hugo Grenville School of Painting reflecting depth and poetry rather than "record keeping." She aims to paint freely, with rich designs, and heartfelt subjects. Drawn to the abstract, her work offers a bridge between reality and abstraction, fused with a strong sense of design and love of colour.

I was parked up in what I thought was a public lay-by until a very irate woman came stomping...
