Capitol Moving & Storage is situated on 15.45 acres of park-like setting with landscape design, in-ground irrigation system, and five acres of asphalt to accommodate parking for tractor-trailers. We have a state-of-the-art facility with climate control, loading docks, 58,000 square feet of office/warehouse, wash/maintenance area, mezzanine, truck scale, storage, emergency generator, and security with video centrally monitored 24 hours a day. Capitol Moving & Storage, established in 1947 and with United Van Lines since 1957 is a stable, expanding company poised to grow their employees with the business. Family owned and operated, Capitol is now located in South Windsor, CT in a new state-of-the-art facility on Route 5. In 1947, Edward J. Gagnon started Gagnon Movers in Hartford with one truck, a strong back, and a lot of determination. In 1957 Capitol joined United Van Lines, then a distant number three in the industry, as a shareholding agent. In 1999, Capitol moved from Hartford and constructed a new state-of-the-art facility in suburban South Windsor to accommodate the growth and prepare for the future.
