Beginning his career, he started as a carpenter's assistant and worked his way towards becoming a master carpenter. After graduating Wimington High School and Essex Agricultural Technical Institute, Dan studied Forestry Management at the University of Maine, and worked for the forestry service in Colorado for a year as part of his training. Upon returning to New England, Dan fully devoted himself to the development of Bernard Carpentry. By the mid 1980s, Dan had established a quality construction business in Wilmington Massachusetts, and has since worked to build a large customer base, and a solid reputation.
