Since 1979, Tri-City Marble has been a family owned and operated business. Before Mike McDaniel, the owner, took over what was known as Fremont Marble, he was a carpenter. Fremont Marble was owned by Mike's grandfather and run by his older brother David before his mother Lenora took over. Lenora changed the company name to Tri-City Marble and ran the business on her own until she decided she needed help. Mike decided to step in and co-own the company with his mother. The two of them worked well together for many years.
Cultured marble is a low cost, low maintenance man made product designed specially for your bathroom needs. When you think of cultured marble, most people think "synthetic" or "plastic" when actually cultured marble is not totally synthetic. It is composed of real natural marble dust and mixed with a liquid polyester resin. Unlike real marble, cultured marble also has a gel coated finish, which provides a non-porous, stain resistant surface. Real marble is naturally porous and can stain easily. Hair products such as hair dye and chemically reactive shampoos and conditioners can cause staining problems with natural marble.
