Our company was founded in 1972 by Kent entrepreneur Ian Pierson when he was aged just 22. After completing a commercial apprenticeship he went to work for a heating installation company in London, mainly involved with sales and marketing. This company ran into trouble and ceased trading; it was this event that encouraged Mr Pierson to start Swale Heating. He set the business up to focus on customer service - a theme that is still at the heart of our ethos. For the next ten years, the company's base was a small shop in Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey.
