When you get the "this is going to take a minute" call (someone built a wall and a shelf blocking the panel cover).
100 year old knob & tube wiring covered in dryer lint... yummy! It's not always easy but, it's always recommended to have knob & tube replaced with modern wiring.
The guys are always bringing back some "good ones."
These folks were lucky they were home to catch this. No connector/ bushing on the main wire and it appears to have cut into the panel almost causing a disaster.
It takes some serious troubleshooting skills (and patience) to find an issue like this. Wire behind a wall punctured by a nail. Great job by our technician, Jay!
