A technology innovator, custom manufacturer, and electrical systems troubleshooter for heavy industry, FLANDERS designs, engineers, produces, and services industrial power systems and control systems. We specialize in electric rotating machinery for high-demand applications across mining, mills, and heavy industry. FLANDERS innovations include North America's first DC to AC dragline conversion and our ground-breaking open-architecture control system for mining machines, used to automate the first fully autonomous fleet of mining drills.

When we look at a complex machine, we see "thousands of points of possible failure" as "thousands of opportunities to make this machine better." And that's what we do-with materials, with tolerances, with design, with fabrication processes, with field installation, with custom algorithms, with system configurations, with entirely new technologies. Some FLANDERS innovations are small and incremental; others are big leaps ahead. It's when you combine them all that the magic really happens. We put decades of accumulated innovation, field, and repair experience into the power and control system technologies we develop for you.

A privately owned, family-operated business, FLANDERS began as Flanders Electric Motor Service, Inc., a repair shop in Evansville, Indiana that Roy Patterson and Bud Havens purchased from Frank Flanders in 1962. At the time, Roy had been working for the company since the late 1940's. Over the next ten years, Flanders Electric expanded six times to keep up with customer demand, as we continued increasing our geographic reach and offerings in DC and AC electric motor repair, DC and AC rewinding, welding, machining, and troubleshooting.

Allen Patterson transitioned into the role of chief executive officer in 2017. He has been with FLANDERS for two decades. He joined the company after earning an electrical engineering degree from the University of Evansville in 1997. Helping cast the vision for the future while staying true to our history, Allen is working to transition FLANDERS into a more nimble, quick-to-react business in order to better serve our clients and seize new market opportunities. His other roles at FLANDERS include leading business development, developing and maintaining strategic partnerships, nurturing company culture, and empowering employees with the tools, training, and trust needed to do the best work possible for clients.
