The standard provides the minimum requirements for inspection of residential HVAC equipment in single- or double-family dwellings less than three stories. These requirements are performed by licensed HVAC contractors, . It's that time of year - the time when the weather is so crazy with fluctuations, sometimes you don't know if it will be 50 degrees or 80 degrees on any given day.

Late spring, summer and early fall in Bel Air, MD can be stifling hot and the air is often thick with humidity and allergens. Most people will seek the cool comfort of an air-conditioned home for relief. Keeping your air conditioner performing at its peak level requires routine maintenance and care. Sometimes it means repairing or servicing your unit. It might also mean replacing your entire system. HGH Mechanical can help with all your AC repair needs. From installation of the newest money- and energy-saving units to the recommended twice-yearly maintenance visits, HGH technicians are on call and ready to provide outstanding professional air conditioning service.

When you hear that unidentifiable "thud" or "ping" and it seems to be coming from your heating system, what should you do? You get that sinking feeling that it's going to cost you time and money. But don't procrastinate. At the first sign of trouble, call your HVAC professional. As heating and cooling systems age, the mechanical parts loosen up, motors wear out, the blower runs excessively and the system works harder overall to do its job. Your professional heating and cooling specialist will evaluate the problem and should give you a choice: either fix it or replace it.

A recent survey published by ACHR News shows that the majority of homeowners who are replacing their HVAC equipment are going for the mid-range in efficiency ratings. The survey said 46 percent of the respondents purchased mid-level products with a SEER rating of 14-18 and a 90 percent AFUE. SEER, or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, is primarily related to the efficiency of air conditioners. The higher the number, the more efficiently the unit uses power. AFUE refers to Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency, and it measures the amount of heat actually delivered to your home vs. the amount of fuel you must supply to the furnace.

It's that time of year - the time when the weather is so crazy with fluctuations, sometimes you don't know if it will be 50 degrees or 80 degrees on any given day. Heat pumps in HVAC systems also might be failing in the late spring and early summer. Why? It's because the transition from heating to cooling can be difficult on older systems, or a newer system may simply not handle it properly. How do you tell if your heat pump needs to be replaced? There are a few signs. The first is that the pump does not come on when you turn on the air conditioning the first time.

Heat Pumps offer an energy-efficient alternative to furnaces and air conditioners. There are many different kids of heat pumps, but they all operate on the same basic principle, heat transfer. This means that rather than burning fuel, they move heat from one place to another. One of the biggest advantages of a heat pump over a standard heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) unit is that there's no need to install separate systems to heat and cool your home. A heat pump can trim the amount of electricity you use for heating by as much as 30% to 40%.

HGH offers a wide variety of heating and air conditioning solutions for your home or business. We sell and install gas, oil or electric heating and air conditioning equipment from Carrier. We also provide a large range of indoor air quality products such as Air Purifiers, Air Exchange Units, Ultraviolet Germicidal Lamps, Humidifiers, and Air Filters. Innovative Carrier geothermal heat pumps tap into the earth's surface to use the energy and relatively consistent heat found in soil or surface water as a heat source-instead of using outside air like traditional heat pumps.

Our 20+ year old HVAC system suddenly failed and needed replacement. HGH made the whole process easy, from sales to installation and followup. We love our new, more efficient system. Prices are reasonable and they even submitted the rebate paperwork for us. Definitely a 5-star company; competent, professional and friendly team.

We had our entire AC system replaced with HGH this year. They were prompt, honest, professional, courteous, priced right, and just overall EXCELLENT! I would recommend them all day long! Choose HGH you will not be disappointed!

Can't recommend HGH enough. I called at 9am and they were at my house in Locust Point by 10:30am. They were out by 10:40am after fixing a blown capacitor quickly at a very reasonable price. DJ was awesome. Clearly knew what he was doing. Super professional and a great guy.

What's new?

Our Heat Pump went up on one of the coldest days of this new year. The company we had a service contract with could not help us out for several days. Both of our children have had HGH install new units for them in the past. We immediately placed a call to HGH. They responded promptly and made sure we had emergency heat and that we would be OK! The next day the plan was in process to replace the old unit. It was installed and running before the other company would have even been out to look at.
