I was sold services by Lone Star back in 2016 because we were having problems with mold and mildew forming around the air registers in our house. Lone Star told me that they could take care of this and make it go away. The first step of the process was to fume the air ducts with a moldicide to kill what was growing. Second, they would install UV lights in my AC supply plenum to kill any bacteria or viruses at the source so that nothing would grow in my air ducts going forward. For this "service" that was promised to work, I had to pay them close to $1,000 and then I had to have them back to the house every 6 months and pay them a trip charge to keep the warranty in effect. We proceeded with them. After the third trip out to the house where we kept having to pay the trip charge, I explained to them that their service wasn't working. They informed me that if I really wanted to get rid of it permanently, I would have to pay them for an additional service to paint a primer around and in my air registers to encapsulate the mold to prevent further growth. This was where I drew the line. I told them I was promised that these other services that I've invested almost $1,000 in would solve the problem. I told them that I would be paying nothing more to them and because of their false claims and ineffective work, they needed to refund me the money they charged me.
