Conveniently located at the Ballard Bridge in Seattle our factory trained certified technicians specialize in boat repair. We are a Mercury Platinum Dealer Outboard and Stern drive. Our services include rigging and electronics installation, engine replacement, powerhead and gear case rebuilding and general boat repair and fabrication. Our indoor/outdoor facility includes a large service shop and parts department. We carry the complete Mercury four stroke line including the Verado supercharged 4 cycle engines and OptiMax 2-Strokes.
Ballard Marine Service Inc has been in business for since 1991 and our focus is on service. Our facility was originally the location of Brekke Blacksmith & Metal Fabrication, established in 1900. Now, new and used outboards are on display in the character filled showroom, and our indoor/outdoor service bays feature the latest in computer diagnostic equipment and test tanks. We have made our focus on the recreational market but our work with the commercial and high use accounts have given us some help understanding what can fail and often anticipating what can fail before it does as these engines have accelerated use in comparison to recreational.

When oil filter removal goes like this it's a good indicator of two things... it wasn't going to fall off and perhaps a tad too tight. Turning more than 3/4 turn after gasket contact causes this. Actually one more thing... it's going to cost a little more
