Founded in 1963 by A. Jack Childress, Mechanical Equipment Company has grown from a predominately small equipment distributor, to one of the largest independent wholesalers in the Southeast. In the 1970's we expanded our product offering to include all of the related supplies to become a leader in the residential, new construction HVAC market. Now in our third generation, Brandon Childress is President and CEO while his father Brud Childress remains on as Board Chairman. Of particular pride to us and a big reason for our success, is our employees.
